In another thread, one person deleted every spare account and found the surviving one still blocked more than a week later. That is the cost of the old workaround. Deleting the spares does not reset anything, because the counter was never attached to them.

The one route I will not walk through here is a VPN or a fresh device. Dodging an anti-abuse counter is the behaviour that gets an account flagged, and a flagged account is worse than a throttled one.

Lite is the tier I would pay for if video mattered to me, and only then. The plan card on grok.com/plans lists “Try out AI image & video creation” and “Increased limits at regular speed” alongside Expert mode and “2x longer conversations”.

The word “try” is doing a lot of work there, and it matches the 480p, 6-second clips Lite has delivered since it launched in late March 2026.

The $30 SuperGrok card is where the numbers get interesting. It promises “HD 720p, 30-second video”, while xAI’s own product page still says “text-to-video up to 15 seconds at 720p” on the same day.

One of those pages is stale, and the 15-second figure is the one I plan around until xAI fixes it.
