How Safe Is CrushOn AI and What It Does With Your Chat Logs

What’s Changed: CrushOn AI is safe enough for adults who keep their real lives out of the chats, but it is not private. Its privacy policy, last modified March 6, 2025, says chats help train its models and sets no deletion date. The health-data warning many reviews still quote describes an older policy from 2024.

How safe is CrushOn AI, and is CrushOn AI safe enough to trust with a long roleplay? For your device and your card, it behaves like an ordinary paid website.

For your privacy, it is safe only if you treat every chat as something a company keeps, which is the rule I apply to it.

What is CrushOn AI: An adult AI character chat site where you talk to characters other people built, or create your own, with free messages and paid plans.

One disclosure first: this site earns a commission when readers subscribe to CrushOn through its links, so the findings below are stated plainly, including the ones that cost CrushOn customers.

The warning most pages repeat comes from Mozilla’s February 2024 review, which counted “health data” 23 times in CrushOn’s privacy policy.

That review describes a policy that has since been replaced, and on August 11, 2026 Mozilla announced that Privacy Not Included “has moved,” leaving its old reviews to the Wayback Machine.

The current policy never mentions health data, yet it still feeds your chats into model training and keeps them for as long as CrushOn sees fit.

This page shows which of your details CrushOn can keep, which sites only pretend to be CrushOn, and the five habits that let you use it without handing over your real life.

How Safe Is CrushOn AI and What It Does With Your Chat Logs

Is CrushOn AI Safe With Your Chats?

CrushOn AI is not private with your chats. Its current privacy policy says chat content trains its models, offers no way to opt out of that, and keeps data for as long as CrushOn judges necessary.

What CrushOn's privacy policy says it keeps from your chats

The privacy policy, last modified March 6, 2025, says CrushOn will use chat content “in a general way for training our models” and “will not link chat contents to specific users.” Characters you build can also be used “to train AI models.” The only opt-outs it describes cover cookies and Google’s ad tools, so nothing in the policy keeps your chats out of training.

Adults weighing CrushOn often compare it with Candy AI before committing. Ask each privacy policy the same three questions: does it train on chats, can you delete them, and who can read them.

If CrushOn’s terms work for you, CrushOn runs in any web browser with no download.

Deletion has no clock either. The policy keeps personal information “for so long as it is reasonably necessary” or as the law requires, and it says CrushOn “cannot guarantee” your data is safe from intrusion.

The terms of use, last modified September 22, 2026, go further. CrushOn “reserves the right to monitor, alter, edit, or remove” what users submit, and it “will fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order” asking who broke its rules.

Of everything in these two documents, the training clause is the one I point out first to anyone asking about CrushOn.

What you shareWhat CrushOn’s documents sayMy rule

Does CrushOn Still Collect Health Data?

CrushOn’s current privacy policy no longer mentions health or biometric data.

Mozilla’s February 7, 2024 review counted “health data” 23 times in the policy it read, from a company then listed as Peekaboo Tech Inc.

The March 6, 2025 policy, published under TECHIEPIE LTD in Nicosia, Cyprus, uses the word “health” zero times. Mozilla’s original review page now redirects to that “has moved” notice, so the archived copy is the only version left to read.

Plenty of current reviews still repeat the old finding as fact. Plisio’s CrushOn review, for one, says the app “collects health data, biometric information, and chat content.”

I give CrushOn credit for dropping that language, and I still keep anything medical out of my chats.

Is CrushOn AI Legit?

CrushOn AI is a real paid service, but its name gets borrowed by sites you should avoid.

TECHIEPIE LTD in Cyprus runs it today, and the bigger risk sits with lookalike pages that send traffic its way.

The real crushon.ai site compared with lookalike sites

The site itself publishes its terms, a support address and an operator in its footer. Privacy watchers grade it harshly, though, and VerifyWise scores CrushOn an F, 31 out of 100, for what it discloses about its data practices.

The stronger warning sign is borrowed names. KoboldAI, an unrelated open-source project, lists kobold-ai.com as a fake site in a subreddit post that says it sends people to CrushOn. On October 22, 2026, that domain showed a page titled “Kobold AI: An NSFW AI Chatbot Beyond Chai AI” whose buttons all led to crushon.ai.

Each of those links carried a tag naming kobold-ai.com as the source. Who set that page up is not public, though the same post calls CrushOn “notorious for putting up fake websites.” That page bothers me more than any privacy grade, because it catches people who went looking for a free, open-source tool.

Other copies are easier to spot. Pages on pages.dev addresses, such as crushon-ai-official-website-2.pages.dev, publish “CrushOn AI Review 2026” articles that CrushOn does not run, and they link out to an affiliate redirect.

As of October 22, 2026, the US App Store lists no app from CrushOn’s operator, even though its terms describe one.

The closest name there, “Crushmash: Crush On AI Chat,” comes from a different developer, so the safe route is typing crushon.ai into your browser. What the plans get you is covered in our CrushOn AI review.

Did CrushOn Change Its Filters?

CrushOn’s filters have changed more than once, so old complaints may not describe the site today.

In April 2024, a thread titled “The end for crushonAI” blamed an App Store listing for heavy filtering, cut-off replies and refusals.

Today CrushOn’s FAQ refers to an Unfiltered or Hidden Content switch that decides which characters you can see. Current block messages and how to clear them are in our CrushOn moderation guide.

Is CrushOn AI Safe for Teens?

CrushOn AI is not safe for teens, and its own rules agree. Its privacy policy and terms both require users to be at least 18, and its mature content sits behind an age check.

The privacy policy says “you must be at least 18 years old to use CrushOn.ai” and promises to delete data from anyone younger once it finds out. Signing up takes an email address, so the real barrier is the age check in front of the 18+ switch, which our age verification guide explains region by region.

A card-based check can be passed with a parent’s card, so parents should not lean on it. I would block crushon.ai at the router and explain why, rather than trust any age screen.

Regulators are paying attention to this whole category. The FTC opened an inquiry in September 2025 into how seven companies’ companion chatbots affect children and teens.

How Do You Use CrushOn AI More Safely?

Using CrushOn AI safely comes down to five habits.

Keep real details out of chats and characters, sign up with a spare email, pay through a processor you trust, type crushon.ai yourself, and delete your account when you leave.

I run CrushOn the same way I run every companion app, with these five rules:

  1. Keep real names, places, employers and photos of real people out of chats and characters, because both feed model training under the current policy.
  2. Sign up with an email address you do not use for banking or work.
  3. Pay through a processor you already trust, since refunds depend on whether you paid through Apple, Google or CrushOn directly.
  4. Type crushon.ai into the address bar instead of clicking a lookalike result.
  5. Delete the account when you stop, because closing the tab or removing the app leaves your data in place.

A roleplay setup is where people overshare without noticing:

Before: “I’m Dana, I work night shifts at St. Luke’s in Denver, and my ex Marcus keeps texting me. Play my boyfriend who helps me deal with him.”

After: “Play a supportive boyfriend. My character is a night-shift nurse in a big city whose ex keeps texting her.”

How Do You Cancel CrushOn and Delete Your Account?

You cancel CrushOn on the platform you paid through, then delete the account under Profile, Settings, Delete Account.

An active subscription can block the deletion, so cancel first.

CrushOn’s FAQ says benefits run to the end of the billing cycle and “most periods are non-refundable once started.” It also contradicts itself on deleted accounts, saying they “cannot be recovered” and, a few lines later, that recovery works “only within 3 days.”

Treat the 3-day window as real before you assume an account is gone. Plan details and what each tier costs are in our CrushOn pricing guide.

Should You Use CrushOn AI?

CrushOn AI suits adults who want character chat and accept that their chats help train its models.

Anyone who needs privacy, and anyone under 18, should skip it.

The honest case for CrushOn is its large library of user-made characters and a free tier you can try before paying. If that trade suits you, start at CrushOn and keep the five habits above.

If you would rather compare first, Candy AI is the app I point adults to most often, and it is browser-based and 18+ only. Read its privacy policy with the same questions before you share anything personal.

Quick Takeaways

  • CrushOn AI is not private, because its March 6, 2025 policy uses your chats to train its models and sets no deletion date.
  • The health-data warning many reviews quote describes a 2024 policy that has since been replaced.
  • Lookalikes such as kobold-ai.com and pages.dev copies borrow names, so type crushon.ai yourself.
  • It is 18+ only, and an age check sits in front of its mature content.
  • Keep real details out of chats, pay through a processor you trust, and delete the account when you leave.
