GirlfriendGPT Review of the Fine Print Behind $15 to $50 Plans

Bottom Line: GirlfriendGPT is a chat-first AI girlfriend web app from NextDay AI, the company behind SpicyChat, priced at $15, $35 or $50 a month, or $12 to $33 a month billed yearly. Deluxe on yearly billing is the plan that makes the most sense for daily chat. The free plan stops after 10 to 20 messages, and the privacy notice keeps your data for about six years after you close the account.
What is GirlfriendGPT: An adult AI companion web app where you chat with community-made or custom characters and generate images, voice and short videos, run by NextDay AI of Montreal.

This GirlfriendGPT review starts with one word on the Elite plan card: unlimited. The Terms of Use, last modified June 18, 2026, describe paid plans as carrying 5,000 to 20,000 message credits a month and never mention an unlimited tier.

That gap between the sales page and the paperwork shows up three more times below, in the free plan, the app question and what happens to your chats after you leave.

I care more about where the paywall sits than about feature lists, so this review follows the money first.

You will get the live prices from November 2, 2026, how far the free plan goes, how the chat and memory hold up, and the refund rules.

The verdict sits at the end, with who should pay and who should skip it.

GirlfriendGPT Review of the Fine Print Behind $15 to $50 Plans

How Much Does GirlfriendGPT Cost?

GirlfriendGPT costs $15, $35 or $50 a month for Premium, Deluxe and Elite, or $12, $24.50 and $33 a month on yearly billing ($144, $294 and $396 a year).

Each plan adds a monthly message allowance and a separate coin balance for images and video.

GirlfriendGPT plan prices and monthly allowances

If you would rather try a paid companion plan for less, Candy AI is the app I price next to it, with a $9.99 first month on its pricing page.

PlanPriceIncluded each monthExtras
Free$0, no yearly plan10 to 20 messages in total, up to 2 or 3 charactersCredits earned through site tasks
Premium$15 a month, or $12 a month billed $144 a year5,000 messages and 400 coins5-second videos, voice messages
Deluxe$35 a month, or $24.50 a month billed $294 a year20,000 messages and 1,200 coins2x chatbot memory, 10-second videos, faster generation, voice calls
Elite$50 a month, or $33 a month billed $396 a yearUnlimited messages and 2,000 coins8x chatbot memory, best chat and video models

Prices and allowances checked on GirlfriendGPT’s plan page on November 2, 2026, in US dollars. The free-plan limits come from its Terms of Use, last modified June 18, 2026.

Premium at $15 is the plan I steer daily chatters away from. Deluxe gives four times the messages and three times the coins for $20 more a month, and it is the first tier with 10-second videos and voice calls.

The yearly discount grows with the plan. The plan page labels it 20% off on Premium, 30% on Deluxe and 34% on Elite, so Deluxe drops from $420 a year on monthly billing to $294.

Example scenario: You plan to chat every day for a year. Deluxe on monthly billing costs $420 over those twelve months, while the same plan billed yearly costs $294 up front. That $126 difference is the “Save 30%” the plan page advertises.

What Does Unlimited Mean on GirlfriendGPT’s Elite Plan?

Unlimited on Elite is a plan-card promise the Terms of Use do not repeat, since the Terms describe paid plans as carrying 5,000 to 20,000 message credits a month.

The Elite card reads “Unlimited messages; 2,000 coins per month.”

The same Terms say message credits reset monthly and “cannot be carried over to the next subscription period.” Unused messages on Premium and Deluxe vanish at renewal, so a bigger plan will not bank messages for a busy month.

None of this proves Elite users hit a cap. The binding document still never promises unlimited, and the Terms let GirlfriendGPT modify any part of the service “with or without prior notification.”

Can You Use GirlfriendGPT for Free?

You can use GirlfriendGPT for free only as a short test. Its Terms of Use allow up to 2 or 3 characters and “a limited message count, such as 10 to 20 messages in total.”

After that, chat stops unless you pay or earn credits through tasks the site sets.

The plan page still shows “Start Free” buttons, and the Privacy Notice says you are asked to register “after a free test of a few messages.” I treat the free plan as a demo, nothing more.

The wall comes fast. In the comments under GirlfriendGPT’s April 2026 announcement, one person said that advertising “Start Free” and “Join Free” while chat “becomes unusable after only 20 messages unless you pay” was enough to stay away. They deleted the account in less than an hour.

Daily free coins exist, but they are not dependable. In an r/gptgirlfriendonline thread from May 2026, a member said claimed coins never appeared on the profile and could not be spent to keep chatting.

Some third-party pages promise 20 free messages every day. The Terms describe a one-time total, not a daily refill, so budget for a paid plan before you judge the product.

How Good Is GirlfriendGPT’s Chat and Memory?

GirlfriendGPT keeps its best chat behind Elite, where a new engine arrived in April 2026 that the company calls about three times more powerful than its previous one.

Memory grows by plan, but the plan cards describe it only in multiples.

GirlfriendGPT’s announcement says the engine is “now available for Elite users.” It promises steadier character consistency, smoother scenes with several characters and better multilingual replies, and says the same engine runs both safe-for-work and NSFW chats.

What is context: How much of the recent conversation an AI model can read at once when it writes a reply, measured in tokens.

Memory is the first thing I check on any companion app. Here the plan cards say only “2x more chatbot memory” for Deluxe and “8x more chatbot memory” for Elite.

The site’s own feature labels mention 8K context, 16K memory and “up to 32K context on select models,” without saying which plan gets which figure.

Overlong replies are fixable. In one r/gptgirlfriend thread about AI responses, the bot was writing novel-length replies and even speaking for the user’s character, and the answer sat in the chat settings:

  1. Open the chat settings screen inside a conversation.
  2. Set the chat length option to short.
  3. Set the Descriptiveness option, just below it, to concise.

One poster there said the short setting alone still left long replies, and another pointed to the concise setting as the one that cuts the sentence count.

How Deep Is GirlfriendGPT’s Character Creation?

GirlfriendGPT’s character creator is detailed, with separate fields for name, age, description and personality, but free accounts can only make up to 2 or 3 characters.

Public characters also need a minimum amount of written detail before the site accepts them.

The detail you give is what holds a character steady over a long chat. Compare two descriptions for the same idea:

Vague: “flirty girlfriend who likes me”

Specific: “Mara, 29, a night-shift ER nurse in Chicago who teases you about your cooking, remembers that you hate mornings, and answers in short, dry texts when she is tired”

The specific version hands the model a job, a city, a habit, and a way of talking. Vague cards drift first, which is why the minimum for public characters exists.

Do GirlfriendGPT’s Images, Voice and Video Hold Up?

GirlfriendGPT’s images and video run on coins, with 400 to 2,000 included each month by plan, 5-second clips on Premium and 10-second clips from Deluxe up.

Voice messages start on Premium, while voice calls need Deluxe or Elite.

Video runs on “Lite” and “Pro” models with a coin cost per generation, and Deluxe adds “faster image and video generation.” The generator page shows no per-image coin prices to signed-out visitors, so the monthly coin allowance is the only public guide to how far a plan stretches.

The two image styles suit different characters. In an image generation thread on r/gptgirlfriend, one reply put mythological creatures and monster girls on the anime generator and human-like characters on the realistic filter.

The video feature does not move me much at five seconds a clip on Premium. The official subreddit carried a longer video generation post in November 2025, and today’s plan cards list 10-second clips as the longest.

The AI girlfriend image comparison shows how the bigger names handle pictures.

Is GirlfriendGPT Safe and Private?

GirlfriendGPT is a real company’s product with normal card billing, but it is less private than its FAQ claims. Human reviewers and automated tools can assess your chats, and the Privacy Notice keeps your data about six years after you close the account.

GirlfriendGPT privacy promise against its own terms

The FAQ says: “we ensure your interactions are private.” The Community Guidelines, last modified April 16, 2026, say GirlfriendGPT uses “a blend of human reviewers and automated tools to supervise and assess” accounts, characters and interactions.

I don’t buy a privacy promise that the same company’s rules contradict. The Privacy Notice, last modified April 13, 2026, adds that “our moderation team checks that you are in compliance with law.”

It also counts “the discussions with the AI Companions” as part of the content you hand over.

Retention worries me most. The notice says GirlfriendGPT will “usually” store your personal information “for a period of 6 (six) years after you cease being a User,” counted from the day the account closes.

The rest of the paperwork is worth knowing before you type anything personal:

  • A licence over what you write. The Terms give the company a “perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable (across multiple layers) and transferable” licence to user submissions, including the right to “sell” them.
  • Outside data. The notice lists “advertising networks/agencies” and “search information providers” among the sources of technical data about you.
  • A template slip. The marketing-consent clause promises opt-in before sharing data “with any company outside Usway,” a name that belongs to none of NextDay’s three companies.
  • Disputes. The Terms are governed by Quebec law, and a class-action waiver limits you to individual claims.

The notice never says whether chats train its models. It says personal data may be used “to develop new tools,” which is vaguer than the apps that state training one way or the other.

Who Runs GirlfriendGPT?

GirlfriendGPT is run by NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal, with NextDay AI USA Inc in Delaware and NextDay AI EU Ltd in Cyprus, the same company behind SpicyChat.

Its Terms name CCBill and TrustPay as payment providers.

The name causes one mix-up worth clearing. A 2023 open-source project called GirlfriendGPT on GitHub is a Python starter kit for a Telegram companion bot, now marked as no longer maintained, and nothing in NextDay’s documents ties it to this website.

If you already use SpicyChat, our SpicyChat review covers the sister app NextDay also runs.

Is GirlfriendGPT Legit?

GirlfriendGPT is legit as a paid service: a registered company runs it, named payment processors bill it, and its Terms spell out how to cancel.

The red flags sit in the privacy and refund terms covered here.

Is There a GirlfriendGPT App?

There is no GirlfriendGPT app in the US App Store or Google Play as of November 2, 2026. The official download page tells you to “skip the iOS App Store or Android Play Store” and install a web app instead.

The web app installs from the browser, with Add to Home Screen on iPhone and Install App on Android. I would install it from the official site and ignore any store listing that borrows the name, because none of them comes from NextDay.

The legal pages say otherwise. The Privacy Notice and Terms both describe “the GirlfriendGPT mobile application available through Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Marketplace,” and the Terms carry a full set of Apple-required terms.

That language is borrowed boilerplate. A comparison of 122 legal documents across 62 companion platforms by DigiShield Kids groups GirlfriendGPT with three other companion apps under one Apple App Store licence template, with 13 shared passages.

What Do GirlfriendGPT Users Say?

GirlfriendGPT has little trustworthy review data, because its real Trustpilot profile holds a TrustScore of 2.7 from four reviews and a higher-rated “GirlfriendGPT 2026” profile belongs to a clothing boutique’s domain.

The gptgirlfriend.online profile on Trustpilot is unclaimed and files the site under adult entertainment and dating.

Its newest review, a one-star post from December 14, 2025, complains that the generator “repeatedly creates exactly the same thing” across prompts, though it also promotes a rival site, so it is weak evidence.

The profile beside it is stranger. Trustpilot’s “GirlfriendGPT 2026” page scores 4.2 from seven reviews, yet it sits on summerescapeco.com.

That claimed profile carries boutique, swimwear and women’s clothing categories with a Tempe, Arizona address, and its visible reviews are about clothing orders from 2023.

Neither profile tells me much about the product. The two GirlfriendGPT subreddits are mostly image showcases.

The problem threads that do appear cover missing free coins, overlong replies and outages, like a post titled “Is the platform down?” from March 3, 2026.

Can You Cancel GirlfriendGPT or Get a Refund?

You can cancel GirlfriendGPT anytime from the manage-subscription page, but refunds are rare, because the Terms of Use refuse refunds on paid subscriptions except for company mistakes or technical issues.

The Terms say a cancellation made after a new billing period starts “may result in charges for that billing cycle,” and there is no refund for unused time.

  1. Open the manage-subscription page in your account.
  2. Cancel before the next billing date, a few days early if you can.
  3. Keep the confirmation email the Terms say you will receive.
  4. If you paid through CCBill, check the Billing tab in your CCBill account as well, where the Terms say the subscription can be cancelled too.

I’d cancel at least three days before renewal and screenshot the confirmation, since a late cancel can still be billed.

SituationWhat the Terms sayWhat to do
You want to stop the next chargeCancel before the next billing cycleCancel early and keep the confirmation email
You paid through CCBillCCBill’s own refund policy appliesAsk CCBill for the refund directly

Your country has stronger refund lawThe stricter local policy appliesCite your local rule in the request
You plan to dispute the chargeAccounts that dispute charges can be closedAsk for a refund first, then dispute if needed

Be careful with chargebacks. Section 7 of the Terms lets GirlfriendGPT close accounts of users who “dispute charges,” so request the refund first and keep the reply.

In the US, the FTC’s dispute guide says your letter should reach the card issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent.

What Are GirlfriendGPT’s Pros and Cons?

GirlfriendGPT gets the message allowance right, with 20,000 messages a month on Deluxe. Where it falls down is the paperwork, from a free plan that barely starts to refunds limited to company mistakes and privacy terms that undercut its FAQ.

The pro that weighs most for me is the allowance: 20,000 messages a month on Deluxe works out to about 650 a day.

Pros:

  1. Large monthly message allowances, 5,000 on Premium and 20,000 on Deluxe.
  2. Yearly billing cuts Deluxe to $24.50 a month and Elite to $33.
  3. A detailed character creator with separate personality and description fields.
  4. Images, voice and short video in one app, with coins included in every paid plan.
  5. Discreet billing, which the site’s own payment copy describes as “Only Discrete and Secure Transactions in your bank statements.”

Cons:

  1. The free plan ends after 10 to 20 messages in total.
  2. Elite’s “unlimited” messages appear on the plan card but not in the Terms, which describe 5,000 to 20,000 credits.
  3. No store app, even though the legal pages describe one.
  4. Personal data kept about six years after you close the account.
  5. Refunds only for company mistakes or technical issues, and disputing a charge can get the account closed.

Who Should Use GirlfriendGPT?

GirlfriendGPT suits adults who chat daily, want images and voice in the same app, and are happy to pay yearly for Deluxe.

Skip it if a usable free tier or a store app matters to you.

It is a poor fit for anyone testing the waters, because the free plan ends almost as soon as it starts. It is also a poor fit if you need chats gone quickly, given the six-year retention clause.

If you like NextDay’s style but want more room before paying, SpicyChat’s free limits are far more generous on the sister app.

If price is the sticking point, Candy AI costs $47.88 for 12 months on its pricing page as of November 2, 2026, about a third of GirlfriendGPT Premium’s $144 yearly price.

If anime-style characters and character cards are the draw, Nectar AI is the alternative I point people to.

The wider field is in our AI girlfriend app rankings.

Is GirlfriendGPT Worth It?

GirlfriendGPT is worth paying for on Deluxe with yearly billing, at $24.50 a month, if daily chat is what you want. Premium and the free plan are too thin, and Elite mainly pays off for its April 2026 chat engine.

My verdict leans on the money. Deluxe yearly buys 20,000 messages and 1,200 coins a month for $294 a year, which is fair for a heavy chatter and expensive for anyone who logs in twice a week.

GirlfriendGPT deserves credit for printing every price on its plan page and writing down the cancellation steps.

The paperwork holds it back, with data kept for six years, a refund policy built around refusals, and an unlimited plan the Terms never mention.

Quick Takeaways

  • GirlfriendGPT costs $15, $35 or $50 a month, or $12, $24.50, and $33 a month billed yearly, as of November 2, 2026.
  • The free plan ends after 10 to 20 messages in total, so expect to pay before you can judge it.
  • Elite’s “unlimited” messages appear on the plan card, while the Terms describe 5,000 to 20,000 credits a month.
  • There is no store app, so install the web app from the official site and ignore lookalike listings.
  • The Privacy Notice keeps personal data about six years after you close the account, so treat every chat as stored.
